Sliding sash

Sliding sash windows.
Sliding sash (box sash) windows are windows in which two glazed panels slide past each other to allow the window to open. Box sashes are very popular in older Georgian and Victorian buildings, giving them a lot of the buildings character. Over the years they have gained a reputation for being cold and draughty. This is no longer the case, at Bideford Joinery we use rubber parting slip and even fit a rubber seal to the bottom rail and meeting rails as standard, this combined with double glazing provides a perfect replacement with out the loss of character! "keep the character not the cold!" Call to see how good our sliding sash window prices can be.  Bideford Joinery manufactures our Bespoke sliding sash windows in our North Devon based joinery workshop. Below is a before and after of a bideford terraced house which had its sliding sashes swapped for aluminium windows we have now returned some character to the street.
